Our Security Policy
The Casys Information Security Policy helps ensure online security, it is recommended that this informative help page be consulted regularly to stay up to date with the evolution of security threats or changes in security procedures.
Ensuring the security of private information
It is of the utmost importance that login credentials are secure as they are the entry point to CaSys platforms. The following recommendations can help you protect your private information:
-
Avoid reusing the same usernames and passwords across all platforms you use;
-
Do not use information that is easy to deduce;
-
Even if your username (usually the email address) itself is not confidential, do not write it down on anything that can be easily found by a malicious person;
-
Never write down or reveal your password, ID number or PIN to anyone, including CaSys support teams;
-
Change your password periodically;
-
Make sure that you are not observed while entering your password;
-
Periodically check your keyboard and computer to ensure that no keyloggers (devices that record keystrokes) are maliciously connected.
Many browsers contain an autocomplete feature. While this saves the user time, it also allows unauthorized people to log into your account if your computer is left unlocked and unattended. It is recommended that you disable the autocomplete feature of your web browser.
Under any circumstances, never share your PIN/secret code with anyone (including CaSys support teams) and make sure that no one knows it.
Authentication devices
If you receive authentication credentials or one-time passwords sent to a mobile device, please ensure that these devices are secure at all times.
Do not share your credentials or one-time codes over the phone or to an unknown email address. Even if they claim to be from a CaSys Technologies support team, unless you yourself have contacted a relevant support team earlier for a PIN reset or card synchronization issue. In the latter case, it is acceptable to share your credentials or one-time codes with CaSys Technologies technical support for assistance.
Disconnection
If you are away from your computer for an extended period of time, be sure to log out of all running applications. It is strongly recommended that you completely close browser applications after using CaSys platforms.
Viruses and Spyware
Antivirus software, antispyware software, and personal firewalls should be installed and kept running on your computer at all times. Security patches and virus definitions should be periodically installed and updated to ensure that all security holes are closed.
Avoiding fraud
Website Verification
Navigation to the website should always be done through known hyperlinks. Please read the address bar/URL carefully and always make sure it is correct.
Another method of verifying the authenticity of a website is to check the Certificate for websites starting with “https”. Certificate Authorities (such as Verisign or Geotrust) are trusted third-party issuers of digital certificates that verify that the website URL is an authentic site of the company in question. Click on the padlock next to the URL to view the details of the Certificate Authority:
Trusted Computers
Do not use public or shared computers to access CaSys online platforms or conduct transactions.
Fraudulent emails and websites
Stay alert for suspicious emails and websites that attempt to use deception to reveal sensitive information. CaSys Technologies will never ask for private information via email or send emails with hyperlinks embedded in transactional websites.
Also, be aware that in some email applications such as Microsoft Outlook, the hyperlink may be displayed, but clicking on the hyperlink may direct you to another website. This is called phishing. Phishing websites are designed to look like genuine websites. Additionally, some emails may contain image files that appear to look like text. Hovering over the image and clicking may lead you to a phishing website. Ensure that the recommendations for verifying CaSys platforms are followed.
